When someone buys a product, it’s usually either from a retail store or because someone made a recommendation. We trust recommendations because other people have tried it before and like or are enthusiastic fans.
Word of mouth is the the oldest form of people getting to learn about service, places to eat, places to visit and products to buy. It is also very effective because it comes from someone who has had a real experience, not some perceived ideal glossy magazine picture of the product or experience. It’s real.
(That’s how a good business gets known and that’s also how a poor business gets negative publicity. A business that doesn’t meet the needs of customers will discontinue sooner or later, there are many examples and Nokia is one of them.)
Most people get satisfaction from being a HERO, helping other people making a good recommendation, helping someone find a solution to their problem or connecting someone who can solve their problem. Few people plan their day to make other people miserable.
It costs money to bring any product to market.
For retail products – A large part of product cost in retails goes to rental, middle man, staff and traditional advertising.
For word of mouth products – There is $0 advertising and instead of using traditional print or online advertising, those funds are given to product owners who spread the product knowledge by word of mouth. People get paid by being a raving fan of the product, sharing free samples (water) and educating others how to feel better and become healthier.
I really enjoy meeting up with friends, relatives and colleagues and sharing with them the new healthy living information I’ve just learned and sharing one of the healthiest beverages you can find, water. I’ve enjoyed the last few months of doing this for so many reasons.
Reasons why I like my Water Filtration Machine

It is certified as a medical device with ISO13485 for medical use. It is beyond the realm of most water filter systems.
It helped my parents and my colleagues parents feel better, reduced blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels by just drinking the water from the machine I had, they just drank water I gave from my machine.
I save about $200 a month drinking ER water from my machine and I bring 2 bottles of water when I go out. I used to spend $200 per month on coffee, sweet drinks, packet fruit juices and the occasional beer and whisky.

Reasons why I like to share
The water is always free. I can send it my friends, they can collect from me or even collect it from the main office in Peninsula Plaza 25th floor for free.
I have ability to give them one of the best healthy drinks available, water from my machine. And it doesn’t cost me anything.
Everyone benefits from sharing and drinking the water. Nobody loses anything. If the water doesn’t help someone’s medical situation, there’s no loss. If it does help, then there’s gain.
I get to reconnect with people I haven’t met for 18 weeks to 18 years.
I get to makan with them and hear about their stories, what others are learning and how they overcome their challenges.
I get to support F&B sector in our local Singapore economy when I go out for makan.
People can’t buy any product from me, so I can’t sell anyone anything. If they like it, they have to go down to the office themselves to collect it or get it online.
If someone I meet wants to get a machine, I simply help them with the paperwork, install it for them if they wish and the company Enagic sends me a thank you online payment into my account for helping others know about their great product (that helps cover my cost of my makan sessions!)
People who have an entrepreneurial spirit can turn this word of mouth project into a great source of additional income.
